have great concerns about the effect of mankind on the planet. Another interest is in cities and the great variety of towns and cities ranging from those, including many central areas of European cities, which give delight, to the awful, which are usually dominated by road space and traffic. Cities can contribute to sustainability by limiting the need to travel, by reducing the desire to live in the surrounding country or in low-density suburbs and to social sustainability by promoting interaction between people.
